# CoH3 Build Studio 2.1.6 — Map Atlas & NATO Symbols

- Replaced historical formation portraits from the game with NATO-style counters. Symbols distinguish infantry, armour, airborne and reconnaissance formations; echelon marks distinguish divisions, brigades, regiments and battalions.
- Audited all 63 multiplayer map entries. Dated historical context is now available for 44 entries, covering 37 locations and 91 formation entries. The remaining 19 generic or ambiguous maps explicitly show that their historical association has not been established.
- Added contexts for Savio, Gazala, Alam el Halfa, Longstop Hill, Sangro, the Gothic Line, Monte Cavo, the Winter Line and supported Western European locations.
- Western European scenes begin on 6 June 1944. Monthermé and Semois have September 1944 regional context with month-level precision, not an invented exact battle date. Red Ball Express is a logistics context, not a battle with fabricated divisions.
- Corrected the formation shown at Primosole to the 1st Parachute Brigade and identified its commander. Hill 400 uses a battalion counter for the 2nd Rangers. The Savio crossing identifies elements of the German 26th Panzer Division.
- Kept front-line strokes and formation counters readable while zooming. Corrected close-zoom label spacing. Local lines and territorial polygons now follow the same reference vertices.
- The local battle date stays with the selected map; broader campaign reference dates are shown when locating an Eastern or Western front.
- Kept the existing colours: Axis dark grey, Western Allies blue, Soviet forces red, neutral or unverified territory grey. Territorial coverage gaps and approximate positions are labelled.
- Updated Polish, English, German, Russian and Chinese atlas text and the bundled Chinese font subset.

## Installing this patch

Close CoH3 Build Studio. Run **CoH3-Build-Studio-2.1.6-Patch.exe**, then select the folder containing the installed application. It is a patch, not a standalone app or full installer.

The patch recognizes the supplied 2.0.1–2.1.5 releases, verifies its payload and keeps the previous application files as a backup. Builds, guides, notes, settings and personal music are not reset. Do not uninstall the old application or delete its data.

## Historical limits

A CoH3 multiplayer layout is not a historical document. These are sourced historical contexts for a named place or region. Front geometry and formation markers remain schematic sector estimates, not exact headquarters positions or daily battlefield telemetry. Local contact zones are distinguished from continuous fronts. Where continental control or a commander could not be verified, this is stated rather than invented. The roster is not a complete order of battle.

## Verification

Production build and TypeScript checks passed on Linux. Electron UI tests checked all dated selections, 91 formation anchors on land, 250 established territorial-control landmarks, six locations at nine zoom levels, five languages, narrow layout and retained audio/OST settings. Geometry checks passed for 164 control polygons. File-level upgrades from authentic 2.0.1 and 2.1.5 release payloads were simulated.

The Windows installer, real Windows application behavior and in-game overlays have **not** been executed in this Linux environment. These tests do not establish that every historical detail is error-free.
