# CoH3 Build Studio 2.3.0 — desktop integration preview

## Implemented in the desktop client

- Community Builds: search, faction, 1v1–4v4, map, PvP/PvE, terrain, rank, friends and tactical-plan filters; cloud-copy upload; likes/favorites and public profiles through the production API adapter.
- Opening a shared build makes an editable local copy. Existing team orders, timings, notes and strategy variants are retained. Tactical previews use the same planning timeline as the desktop editor.
- Steam browser sign-in with short-lived desktop codes; encrypted application sessions where OS secure storage is available. Session tokens never enter renderer storage.
- Saved public banner/background editor. The old CoH3Stats connection form is hidden when a Studio account is signed in.
- Community quick chat: ten English/Polish phrases, nickname and server-supplied classic rank. Clearly labelled automated moderator guidance. Local mute/unmute and an optional self-message visibility setting.
- Automatic release checks in the main process, an in-app update notice, verified downloads and opt-in installation on normal exit. Manual installation and postponing remain available. Existing unsaved-work guards stay active.
- Updates use the existing NSIS installation and preserve user data. The updater waits for Studio to close before setup proceeds; compatible installers restart Studio after success.
- The website adds small Build Companion, quick-chat and update-flow demonstrations. They are local previews, not live public services.

## Deployment status

This is an integration preview, not confirmation that the new online endpoints have been deployed. The supplied API document marks desktop auth, profiles, cloud/community and release endpoints as still to implement. Existing browser Steam login is retained. The actual backend repository and schema definitions were not supplied.

The client reports unavailable/error states instead of creating fake public posts or metrics. The included chat router is an additive module for the existing Express backend; it requires that backend's session middleware and trusted public-profile adapter. Its migration must be reviewed and applied there.

Full desktop web build and TypeScript checks run on Linux. Controller/security tests use simulated HTTP and encrypted-storage adapters. Windows DPAPI, real Steam account handoff, multiplayer use, PostgreSQL integration and actual Windows install/restart have not been verified here. No release has been published to production.
